ABOUT US
Two brothers’ love for coffee slowly developed over years into something so big, that the next step was to start a roastery. This adventure placed us on a path we couldn’t dream of, a journey we can share with the people of South Africa. This proudly South African company is run by two local entrepreneurs who put customer service first. Our excellence has placed us as a market leader in the business with the help of our leading brands, La Marzocco, Mazzer and Jura. We provide assistance from your first grinder for home use, to the set-up of the most high-end coffee shops.

Tian (the youngest brother) is our in house artisan roaster. He craft coffee consistently, to deliver the highest quality with our three coffee roasters. Our custom engineered, locally developed roaster makes use of world leading convection and conduction technologies in the perfect ratio, allowing us to roast as short as 10 minutes. This ensure that the oils which give coffee its complex flavours are retained inside our beans with the natural sugars caramelised, so you never have a bitter cup. We also own a Genio and a 100kg Classical Whitmee Coffee Roaster that has been upgraded to make use of efficient temperate control.

During the first few months we experimented with roasting techniques and blends, perfecting what was to become our flagship - the BRU Blend. It has a combination of rich flavor, excellent aroma and full body (normally in dark espresso). Our BRU Blend will satisfy in all brewing techniques, from espresso to french press/plunger (with the right coarseness of course!).
Quality, consistency and flavour - we pride ourself in the coffee we deliver. Our excellence and passion for the trade has placed us as a market leader in the coffee business.
And our slogan: Coffee that brings people together.

Beans from different regions are roasted separately prior to being mixed into our blends. Coffee is roasted on demand (per order) to ensure freshness on delivery. We believe that coffee should be consumed as soon as possible after roasting, but within 8 weeks. After 8 weeks, beans has lost most of the unique flavors we amplify with our roast profiles.
We have a passion for people. Our main priorities are not only to built a successful business, but to provide every person with the best coffee they can possibly have. We are authentic in our approach and live up to our slogan: “Coffee that brings people together.”
Our promise as warranty is the replacement of your order if it doesn't meet your expectations.
BRU COFFEE ROASTERS provide you with the fine taste of 100% pure Arabica coffee.

Corne van Deventer
Tian is the brain behind the business. He built the first roaster and after months of experimenting decided that it was time to share his new taste with the rest of, well, the world.
During December 2014 he founded BRU Coffee Roasters. A mastermind, musician, friend and father of one. He is the hands on guy who knows roasting times and temperatures off by heart. A man with patience and a passion for God.
Tian is the youngest of 5 kids raised in the small town of Coligny. After school he studied for three years before marrying Bianca in December 2011.
Labelled a coffee snob by some, his coffee drinking started with friends in the Air Force. Long days at Mugg & Bean, but his taste slowly developed and his brewing improved until his own coffee was better than that offered by most restaurants.

This happened soon after his wife gave him a coffee grinder for Christmas - the rest is now history.
